Bethesda Boys Home Receives A Generous Gift
Dunnville, KY - Joy Tarter, wife of Donald Tarter, CEO of Tarter Gate, LLC donated a complete Cattlemaster Sheeted Alley and Sweep system to the Bethesda Home for Boys, in Savannah, GA, this spring. The gift is valued at more than $4,000.
Boys at the Bethesda Home will use the system in their agriculture classes to work over 135 cattle. The agri-science department at the Boys Home will use the system to worm, tattoo, tag, scrub, curry, and check each of their registered White Face Polled Herefords.
It is the desire of the Bethesda Home for Boys to assist these young men in pursuing a career in agri-business. Bill McIlrath, assistant director of the home, teaches the science of raising cattle. “It is folks like the Tarter’s that help our program meet the needs of these deserving young people,” says McIlrath when speaking of the donation from Tarter Gate.
The Cattlemaster Sheeted Alley and Sweep system will enable his class of seven students to better care for their cattle.
Bethesda Home for Boys is the oldest existing children's home in the country, started in 1740. George Whitefield founded the home with a mission to instill in youth a love for God, a love for learning, and a strong work ethic.
